If it helps Michael Jordan did not even make it on the highschool team his freshman year, After that, he practiced and practiced, everyday. The next year, I believe it was his 10 th grade year, was when he first made it to the team. If you think about it, you started 2 years before he did.
You can do what ever you set your mind to. You are never too old. If you set your mind to it, practice, and do not give up. Do what you have to do, and yes you can make it to be a professional player.

sorry bud but unless you are an outstanding player you pretty much don’t have a chance, my advice is play in college. find a college where you will play a lot, not one where you will sit the bench for 3 years for that one season. after finding a school and playing for 4 years and graduating if you are good some minor league team MIGHT offer you a tryout. if not it would be up to you to promote yourself by going to as many open tryouts and playing in as many tournaments as you can. this will get your name out there and maybe play on a house team somewhere and that could be your road up. first touch and fitness is the key so work on those things as much as possible. i know this cause i played my four years at a D2 school and there were some semi pro teams that offered most of the starters a tryout.

your still young just practice like if your life depended on it, and this Guy played for the USA international team in the 2006 WC and he was old when he started check it out.

join a soccer club asap and everything isn’t skill you need a god touch stamina and pace, and what age are you in grade 8, im in the u.k
